Dims: 3 x 1 3/4 inch (approx.)
Medium: Bicycle tire, steel wire, Jet (lignite), and bronze

The black faceted stone is Jet (Lignite)

JET (LIGNITE)
Using a bike tire as a material was inspired by a friends healthy obsession with tires that she picks up along the road. I believe that they are seen by her as metaphors.

Work Created for the Smith Andersen North gallery exhibition. Juror: William Wegman

New Cliche Verre, gelatin-silver prints

These contact prints are made from glass negatives which have been drawn and painted on, and stacked with internegatives and built-up imagery. After the completion of the glass plates, Diane Kreiter takes over and makes the gelatin-silver contact prints in her darkroom. We proof the prints and Diane makes exposure adjustments to bring them to the finished state.
